Frequently Asked Questions
Curious? We’ve got the answers you need.
We say yes! It's free to get started, and by getting ahead now you'll avoid any last-minute scrambles. We'll even notify you when you hit nexus or need to register. Some states count transactions toward registration even without filing, so don't wait until it's too late. Let Kintsugi handle it from day one.
Absolutely not. We're all about freedom. With Kintsugi, it's pay-as-you-go, month-to-month, and only when we file or register for you. No strings, just service.
A couple of states love a registration fee, but most? They roll out the red carpet for free. The only thing left is your smooth monthly, quarterly, or annual filing fees. Simple, transparent, and always on your terms.
We're serious about deadlines. If we miss your filing deadline, we'll cover your penalties and interest charges. It's on us. You file confidently, we handle the rest.
First, we'll give your store the VIP treatment with a comprehensive audit to pinpoint your nexus. Then, we'll get you registered and back-file any taxes owed. All in 3-5 days. Fast, simple, and stress-free.
Whoops, no biggie! Kintsugi's got your back. We'll dive deep into a full audit of your store and lay out your options. Whether it's a Voluntary Disclosure Agreement (VDA) or a more wallet-friendly alternative, we've got the playbook to keep you covered.
Absolutely! Let us handle the messy stuff. We'll sort out what's owed, remit those taxes on your behalf, and get you back in the clear. Plus, we'll store and manage all your Exemption Certificates and VDAs so you're always ahead of the game—no more tax-time worries!
It's all about the tech! Kintsugi Intelligence, our proprietary AI-powered system, distills U.S. sales tax regulation into over 300,000 lines of code. In seconds, we handle everything from nexus calculations to product classifications and transaction uploads. The result? Fewer CPA hours, faster filings, and savings that we pass directly to you.
Oh yeah, we do! But that's not all—Kintsugi manages your Reseller Certificates, Exemptions, and VDAs too. So whether you're selling through one channel or fifty, we've got you covered from filings to compliance across the board. One platform, total peace of mind.
We're top-tier. Kintsugi is SOC 2 Type II compliant and GDPR-ready with our Data Processing Addendums. We use military-grade encryption with SSL certifications and meet all 5 Total Trust Services Criteria. Translation: Your data is locked down tighter than Fort Knox.
Kintsugi takes accuracy seriously, and on the Premium plan we back it with the Kintsugi Guarantee: if a calculation we made or a filing error of ours leads to penalties or interest, we pay it. The full terms are in your agreement, and the Kintsugi Guarantee page at trykintsugi.com/guarantee explains how it works.
