We’re excited that you’re interested in Kintsugi, which monitors, files, and optimizes sales tax for you.
Getting started is straightforward. This guide will walk you through each step and provide additional resources if you run into any issues along the way.

Now that you have your account, the next step is to connect your data. This helps us show you how your growing sales impact your sales tax liability.
In the product, click Data Sources to get started.
Browse the list of integrations to find the one that matches your platform. Select the integration, then follow the step-by-step guide to connect your account.
Due to API limitations on many platforms, the initial import may take 2–3 days if you have a large number of transactions.
If you’re using a platform we haven’t released an integration for yet, you can upload your data in CSV format instead.
About your business

Presence Information
This is an important step, don’t skip it! Sales tax liability is determined in several ways, and to calculate your taxes accurately, Kintsugi needs to know about your physical presence.
In the product, click Presence to get started.
Click the New button to add your business’s physical presence. You can leave the end date blank if you have not ended your presence in a location.
Remember, “presence” may include:
Physical stores
Offices
Mailing addresses
Warehouses
Employees living in the state or having regular presence (include remote employees and contractors)
States where inventory is stored
States where you attend events or trade shows
Once your data is flowing in, take a minute to review the Pending Tasks on your Kintsugi dashboard.
Check your addresses
Kintsugi automatically validates physical addresses. If any addresses are missing or invalid, they’ll appear in your Pending Tasks.
Invalid addresses –
You can bulk-update invalid addresses with their suggested corrections.
Blank Addresses –
Use the icon in the upper right of the blank addresses list to fill in missing information automatically.
Products
Knowing how your products are categorized allows us to apply the correct sales tax rates. If you have many products, Kintsugi Intelligence can help you classify them automatically. You can also bulk-approve all products at once, or have our Kintsugi AI categorize them for you using the icon.
