How the Nebraska calculator works
Enter a ZIP code and the calculator adds up the state, county, city and district rates for it, multiplies your amount by the total and rounds the tax to the nearest cent. For the formula and worked examples, see how to calculate sales tax. Rates are as of September 2026.

When you have to collect Nebraska sales tax
A remote seller has to register and collect Nebraska sales tax once its sales into the state meet the economic nexus threshold: $100,000 in sales or 200 transactions in the current or previous calendar year, per the state tax agency. A physical presence such as an office, employees or inventory creates nexus on its own. The Nebraska sales tax guide covers registration and filing once you do.
