Kintsugi now integrates with Intuit Enterprise Suite: sales tax for every entity

Connect each Intuit Enterprise Suite entity to Kintsugi to automate sales tax calculation, nexus tracking, and filing, whether your team or a firm owns it.

Introducing the Intuit Enterprise Suite Integration

When you run more than one legal entity, sales tax multiplies. Each entity crosses its own nexus thresholds, registers in its own states, and files on its own schedule. Moving your books into Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) doesn't change that. Sales tax often stays in a spreadsheet, whether your finance team owns it or an outside accounting firm does.

Kintsugi now integrates with Intuit Enterprise Suite. You connect each entity, and Kintsugi calculates tax directly on your IES invoices, tracks nexus for each entity, and handles registrations, filings, and remittance. If you already use Kintsugi with QuickBooks Online, the setup will feel familiar because it follows the same steps.

Set up each entity in four steps

Every IES entity connects to Kintsugi separately, so each one keeps its own data and compliance tracking.

  1. Connect the entity.
In Kintsugi, go to Data Sources, browse integrations, and choose Intuit Enterprise Suite. An IES admin signs in, selects the entity, and approves access.
  2. Let the first sync finish.
Kintsugi pulls in the entity's customers, products and services, invoices, and credit memos, and starts tracking its nexus exposure.
  3. Add the Kintsugi tax rate.
In IES, add a custom sales tax rate of 0 with a name that starts with "Kintsugi," then make your existing tax agencies inactive.
  4. Turn on Tax Collection.
From then on, when you save an invoice in a jurisdiction where the entity is registered, Kintsugi calculates the tax and writes it onto the invoice in about 30 to 40 seconds.

Repeat these steps for each entity. Our Enable Tax Collection help article covers each step in more detail.

What changes for your team

  • Every entity stays separate
Each entity has its own connection, its own data, and its own nexus tracking inside IES. You see where each one stands on its own terms.
  • Tax lands on the invoice, not in a spreadsheet
Your team keeps creating invoices the way it does today. Kintsugi calculates the tax in the background and adds it to the invoice.
  • The invoice carries its own audit trail
Kintsugi records the rate and tax amount in the invoice memo and changes only the sales tax amount. Customers, products, and other records stay as they are, so you and your accountants can review and reconcile without wondering what changed.
  • Filing comes off your plate
Kintsugi registers each entity in the states where it owes tax, files its returns, and remits on schedule. Your team reviews and approves.
  • Firms see every client in one dashboard
If you're an accounting firm or CAS practice with IES clients, you can manage them in Kintsugi Portfolio alongside your QuickBooks Online clients and clients on other systems. Pending filings, registration gaps, and approaching thresholds all show up in one place.

Built for multi-entity businesses on IES and the firms that support them

The integration fits US mid-market businesses running more than one legal entity in Intuit Enterprise Suite, including companies moving to IES from QuickBooks Online. It also fits the accounting firms and CAS practices that manage sales tax for those businesses.

Kintsugi supports IES and QuickBooks Online through separate integrations. It doesn't support QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Enterprise Desktop.

See how it works on the Kintsugi for Intuit Enterprise Suite page. If you're an accounting firm, request a partner demo to see how your IES clients fit into the Kintsugi Portfolio.
